We think so, but we must point out that a recent licensing debate has alienated the two software systems. Because of Joomla's pure interpretation of the GPL, Simple Machines decided to stop supporting Joomla. This is their decision. In our opinion, GMITC's bridge is on solid legal ground because it is released under the GPL or LGPL license. GMITC assumes no responsibility for the usage of this software in your locality - we're just giving you the choice.

No, they no longer support Joomla. We are offering this bridge because many Joomla sites already use SMF and need a bridge. In fact the good people at SMF would often complain that Joomla users are the most frequent violators of their license, so if you do ask support from them please courteous.
